Here’s the lovely Églantine, maker of beautiful hats. Her lovely style caught my eye today on the street and I just had to take her photo. She is wearing one of her hat creations and will be selling them at the Cegep Du Vieux Montreal on the second floor close to the cafeteria this upcoming Thursday!
Cure for the comon cold
There are few things I hate more than being sick. Aside from pumpin’ shocking amounts of vit C, I’ve been eating things I’m not always brave enough to consume.
For example, cyan pepper kale soup. It sounds good, but it’s no walk in the park. For my fellow sickies, eat this and it will do good things. Your nose will run, your mouth will burn and you will sweat, but whatever you do DON’T STOP!
1.5 Liters water
2 tbsps miso paste
3 tbsps cyan pepper (or more if you can take it)
2 cloves of garlic
A lot of kale
package of tofu (i used puffy tofu, it’s the best)
chives to taste
black pepper
Throw everything in and simmer until kale is just barely cooked.
Bustin some virus
I don’t get sick often but when I do, it’s srs business. I felt it creeping up on me, so I started the motions for attack. I’ve got some rituals that I swear by, some freaky and some more conventional.
This is a portrait of the very virus that is cramping my style as he irritates my bronchial region. Death to him!
I consume an insane amount of vit C, especially if that pesky germ is doing its thang. After learning about Linus Pauling, I freaked out and haven’t eased off from taking it since. I eat those delicious chewy tablets mostly, but pineapple sure is a tasty mistress. I also find that yoga (which I’ve been trying to do more of) helps win the battle. Whether it’s placebo or not, I always feel a little better. That dog is supposed to illustrate downward dog, by the way.I stay warm. Real warm.
Check Sarah out!
Here’s Sarah: friend, seamstress, definition of kewel and blogger extrodinaire! We did some post-yoga strollin on a lovely autumn day. After realizing how her lovely attire matched with our surroundings, I couldn’t help myself but to take a photo.
Today Illustrated
Today I:
Got this really great Marimekko change purse from my friend, Sarah, who just returned from an exciting trip to Vancouver!
I went to work to sew sew sew.
I won a subscription to Ricardo Magazine from CBC’s Home Run radio show!
And I watched Silence of the Lambs. Scary!
Power struggle between man and dog
I saw a manicured poodle give his owner a real hard time today on the street. The irony! It was a funny sight.
So Much Etsy Action
It’s been a busy week so far with fixin, photographin, editin and uploadin. My Etsy shop is serious business these days.
Oooh, I love this poncho so much. It’s like a shirt blanket. Also, that purse is quite charming as well (note the scalloped edge!).
